Sea Kayaking and Snorkelling

Sea kayak half day - £55 per person
Single supplement of £45 applies
We choose our locations based on wind and swell direction on the day, so cannot promise in advance that we will paddle in any given location. At all our locations you will experience beautiful scenery and a feeling of remoteness. Wildlife is ever-present and the water is clear and full of life.
Sea Kayak full day available from 1st May 2022 - £80
Single supplement of £60 applies
Is this for you?? A full day is not recommended for complete beginners unless you are fit and flexible. Sea kayaking is strenuous and some people find the posture tiring. Beginners will be given some basic coaching in a very sheltered location before embarking on a short journey with rest stops.

More experienced kayakers are likely to be exposed to choppier conditions and a longer journey, although there will still be rest stops and opportunities to beach and stretch the legs.

Locals' Sea Kayak OR Hill Walk - £40 per person
Optimistically I am planning a series of sea kayaking experiences for local residents! I am reserving 2 days for each, to double our chances of getting the right weather. The Hill Walk is a reserve activity in case the wind is two strong on both days.
To book please follow the steps. There will be a follow up e-mail asking for a deposit.

Wildlife Festival 2022

Wildlife Festival Sea Kayaking - £50 per person
Join a group of up to 5 novice sea kayakers and take to the water under the guidance of experienced guides Kate and Daryll, to spot some beautiful birds and perhaps an otter or a porpoise!
Wildlife festival Otter Walks - £25 per person
Nick Baker, a naturalist that lives part time in the fascinating shoreside location of Tolmachan in North Harris, has offered to show you the places he has discovered close to his home where otters live, feed, swim and teach their young to fish.
Groups need to be small (max of 5 participants) and be prepared to sit and wait quietly with Nick in the hope of actually spotting an otter. You will need to wear walking boots. Walking poles are recommended, as you will not be following a path.
Look out for Nick’s Land Rover at the top of his track which is on the east shore of Loch Miabhag, opposite the village of Miabhag Nam Beann about 5 miles down the B887 towards Huisinis. He will meet you there.
Wildlife Festival Snorkelling - £50 per person
Join Daryll at Huisinis for a glimpse of another world. He will show you how to use a mask and snorkel before introducing you to the precious marine habitats we have here in Harris. Please bring your own wetsuit if you have one. We only have a limited number for people to borrow. This activity is suitable for adults and children aged 10 and above (Adults £50, under 18s £25).
